Yeah, I've just cancelled my plans for tonight cos I have too much to do, but could do an early one...

Bon- I am thinking of about 6:00 being a good time.

have a work thing to attend, but might spin by the HC on my home if some of you guys are in there. but then i have been working on my inverse grand slam this week so we'll see

Never been before but missed Wests yesterday and Camberwell is a small detour on the way home...may swing by for a swift pint or two around 6...

I can highly recommend the shwarmas at that Lebanese takeaway opposite the HC. Amazing.
-
• #8
well it looks like this is turning into an earlier start. I shall endeavour to get there by 7 and catch some of you drop-ins. HC FTW!

This will be the 3rd SE Beers this week?
Is south-east beers campaigning for LFGSS dominance. Might swing by after 7. Pirat, if i do i'll bring your shirts.

Not going to make it, today is too horrendous.

• #12
Anyone gonna be there earlier than 6? Looks like I might be escaping early today...

Then maybe a swift drink would make it better?
I should get out of work around 5:30, so should easily be there by six Mr Budda Fingers.

I might be able to make it down but don't hold me to it.. Can I be controversial and suggest The Grove?
It's just around the corner and more likely to have a few more empty seats
-
• #15
Where is the Grove?
I suppose it would be too much to ask, but somewhere with outside seating would be great.
That said the sun will bugger off at around 6 I suppose...

smokers ftw...i don't care which pub it is, being new to SE.

• #17
hmm. I might come if there's outside seating and I can smoke.

There are usually some tables outside the Hermits Cave when I cycle past, if we get there for six I imagine we would be able to grab them.
We can then a) smoke like chimneys, and b) keep an eye on the bikes.

Frankly this sounds too good to be true. OK, I'm in again.

^ sounds good to me, see you at 6.

The Hermit's cave is better for outside seating (smoking and looking at bikes as it's basically on a main road)
The Grove is about 0.4miles from the Hermits cave.. Just ride up Grove lane (the road that HC curves onto) and you'll see it
Pros: Really nice pub, lots of comfy seating, never really gets that full
Cons: Not on a main road (can't spy on bikes), not as much outside seating, only two of those upside down U bike rack things, probably slightly more expensive -

From your description my vote goes to the Hermits Cave.
-
• #23
I thought it might.. :)
I may not even be able to make it down tonight so don't mind me, just recommending a lovely pub I know in the vicinity
-
• #24
Just to keep everyone happy we could go to the HC then anyone who is staying could go to the Grove when the sun vanishes?
-

Haha, I bet you'd get in trouble with the cats if you smoked at home.
So I propose a Special Edition(tm) Friday night SE drinks TONIGHT - 8pm onwards at the Hermit's Cave in Camberwell Green.
Come one, come all.
I know it's short notice. Am prepared to spend the evening propping up the bar on my own, explaining to the landlord why we were all in there wearing tweed a few weeks back!
