  • I really like this. Totally going to bite your sweet stylez. If I can find one.

  • They don't come in brown...

  • U inspired me to dig out my MWC.

    Like the budgy. 😎

  • I'm quite fond of it now. I guess their steeze is to feed off the quality of other military watch brands and slip in under that price point.

  • Has anyone seen a new Railmaster in the wild?

  • Have they reissued them again? I managed to find one a few years back, but just the one... A hard to find beast...

  • Got a new strap for my Alpina because the original leather one was starting to get stinky.

  • I prefer the black dial...

  • They do one in blue.

Can't find any (blue or not) though... Well, maybe in Japan.

  • They're a bit obscure for obscure's sake, no? If they didn't have an omega badge, they would be derided, imo.

  • Perhaps I should rephrase that to: their popularity is purely down to their rarity and badge.

  • No their popularity is down to the fact it is an Omega and all that implies, ie quality and value. Omega is probably the least "badge engineered" brand out there.

  • oooh don't know why above is all grey and vague.

  • ^ Bit like the railmaster

  • Proper good.

    Would love one.

  • ^ Bit like the railmaster

    Hah!

  • Really like the Railmaster. Pretty unusual but it works, imo. The faux aged lume is a bit eye-rolly.

  • Does anyone know if there is a bricks and mortar shop in London that would stock a new / second hand Sinn 356? Jura and Page & Cooper have them listed online but have no shops here in the smoke.

  • Really like the Railmaster. Pretty unusual but it works, imo. The faux aged lume is a bit eye-rolly.

I like the history of it - the requirement for engineers and others who work in an environment with high electrical field strengths to have a watch with internal/integral gauss shielding - as I'm a bit of a nerd and work in a technical role.

A lot of the time you're buying the context as part of the watch, if that makes sense, which in this case is the same historical context as the Rolex Millgauss.

With regards to the lume it is a little hackneyed, but overall I like the look (I liked my Steinhart which had this, also - and miss it now that it's gone).

  • Big fan of this iteration

  • ^ That version is really nice.
I suppose it's quite handy if you accidentally touch the magnetic part of an iPad cover.

  • I think the electromagnetic field over my kitchen hob could potentially cook a few classic timepieces. 😎

  • My dad's been trolling me about an Omega he has somewhere in the house and the other day said he'd found some watches. Not what I was hoping for, any use to anyone here...? The dog was given from someone working for His Masters Voice record label and the other I remember him bringing back from Moscow late 80's? Yours in a Jiffy bag for a forum donation...
