Tried this on last week. It's on the list to buy once I've settled down in my new job...
What is that?
Most watch's I see I just find a bit meh, but then something like that pops up and I start wanting a decent watch again. -

Junghans Max Bill Chrono
Edit: Which incidentally is the watch that I have decided to wear on my wedding.

Is there a low tech/DIY solution to keeping your watch wound when you aren't wearing it for a few days? I tried attaching it to the cat but he wasn't keen...

Putting it in your pocket might do

Leaving it on top of the washing machine/tumble dryer would probably do the job.

Can't imagine that'd do it much good

Why not? You think the motion of the washer/dryer would be too small to push the auto-movement past the ratchet? Or do you mean the inevitable vibrate across the top, slide off & smash the crystal on the floor issue?

'Evening watch enthusiasts. Not your preferred subject of fine Swiss hand crafted movements but I have a question regarding digital heart rate monitor watches.
Any recommendations for my 61 year old father-in-law who has a heart problem and would like to monitor his heart rate please? Must be reliable, easy to use, comfortable. I'm guessing a decent sports watch? If anyone has any experience or knowledge I'd appreciate it, for I have none on these instruments. Cheers.

As a watch wearer, and unsure about the general reliability of HRM stuff, this struck me as a very interesting product - the same price as a HRM chest strap but far more useable

Thank you. I think he would prefer something a bit more like a normal digital wrist watch. Other criteria are: must need no chest strap, battery powered. Been having a quick google. Some Timex products look like what he would want I think, something like this:
Amazon.com: Timex Strapless Heart Rate Monitor Midsize Watch (Black, Mid-Size): Sports & Outdoors
Not sure how accurate and reliable it is though. Anyone?

Yes, all present and correct.
If aggi's not interested, I would be...same feelings, no reason in particular but quite fancy a pebble to play with.
I recognise souls socks
