I don't think it is possible to do it right, unless you chrome plate whole frame first. A friend of mine had Moto Guzzi done that way, but with a clear coating he missed few spots and it started t o rust.

yup, i think you have to chrome plate first other than that it would take a hellofalot™ of polishing.
some builders use stainless. -

I have this idea I want to get polished ends, as opposed to chrome, on something I'm going to re-enamel. I was thinking, like when you have a polished area that the track nuts tighten onto, but the whole fork ends, then clearcoated with the paint after.
Anyone know if it's doable? Keith@TdV mentioned to me it's laborious, but for a frame repairer, perhaps less so?
