Hi,
I would like to have advice on these frames, Viking one and Bertelli custom one. Does someone know where they are made? Are they worth it? I plan to build a bike on the Bertelli Custom Raw (mimicking his Performa Breakless: http://www.bertellibici.com/product.php?works_id=117).
Any advice welcome,
Thanks.

I have an Alien - his previous version - pretty much the same, but he has done a couple of upgrades on the Viking. They are really solid bikes that can handle the streets. Super tight clearances and really fun to ride. A couple of friends of mine got a Viking and they seem happy with them. I know Joe a bit from the fixed scene in Norway and he is a serious guy that knows lots and lots about bikes.
Not really sure where he gets them built, but they ship from the US.
If you want something lightweight, look elsewhere. If you want a clean classic looker that can take a beating, go for it.
Don't get the headset though, its crap.

He's not acutally building frames as far as I can see ?
If that's a Wolverhampton Viking frame that he's stripped, he's done some puppy killing

Thanks alot.
Great, now I know what to buy for the frame, First Step done on my list :-).
I wonder however, what is lightweight and what's not? I'm 1m72, so was heading towards the Bertelli Small (same as the Viking 53, so 2,65Kg).
What would you suggest as headset (compatible with Nitto Pearl kind of headpost), Tange-Levin 1" 27.0 thread?
Many thanks again,

Ste_S: No, he does not build them himself. And as far as I know, he doesn't have anything to do with the old Viking brand.
gregvds: Whatever fits your budget. I rode with it cause it was a budget build. It works, but it's not a good headset.

this (http://harriscyclery.net/itemdetails.cfm?ID=2090) does not seem to cost much more. Is it far better?
If you got suggestions, they are welcome
Thanks,

Hi,
Done, I ordered the Bertelli frame, unpainted, small. Eager to see it.
Thanks,

I received the frame today :-).
Very nice frame (for me at least, go no experience, or very little). I'm in the process of brushing it and smooth/luster it with steel wool. I ordered it raw. And when they say raw, really it is...
I'll post pics later if you're interested.

Back on track; I noticed that Alien Bikes is currently turning into Viking Cycles; http://vikingcycles.com/
I for one is excited.
