I need a flat in London!

  • I've got a job in Marylebone on a site that is scheduled to run 'till August. The company are paying for me to stay in a hotel (£80 a night) monday to thursday night and I go home on Friday night after work making it a PITA lugging my stuff home and back every week. For that sort of money I should be able to get a flat and cover my bills (shouldn't I?)

Does anyone know of a flat / shared house for a fixed riding, non smoking 39 year old project manager for a short term tenancy?

  • Try moveflat.com for starters

I saw this one but but when I read the bit that said "Creative minded, cool people etc etc......" I just read FELLOW HIPSTER WANTED.

  • Cheers Gustav looks like a decent site.

  • ha - no elguapo is many things but a hipster? :-D

  • Off to a good start then..........upsetting normal, upstanding, all-round good guys. I don't consider myself to be "cool" (have a unipack in my collection proving it beyond doubt).
The house share is probably going to be a no go, shame tho as I'd be going home OOP NORTH most weekends.

  • I don't think it's a house share - the landlord is renting the rooms individually @ £450 per month ((£900 a month cheaper than staying in a hotel 4 nights a week), & Elguapo is your age !

  • I dont have a flat you can stay at but just wanted to say that Marlybone is a wicked place to work. My brother and mate both work there and they love it. You'll probably spend a lot of money there though. And you'll see loads of famous people!

What type of project are you managing? I was wondering if you would have any advice for me as I want to get into IT project managing. Currently on a contract on King William Street but till august and was thinking of doing the Prince2 qual. Are there many jobs like assistant project managing about?

  • My part of the project is the mechanical and electrical install on a school, theres a re-furb of the existing building to do too but at the moment we're on the new build.

stradam, when you say IT which bit in perticular? the cabling and infastructre side or the computer / hard ware side.

PM me, a friend and I are heading up the M&E side of the business as a new department in a well established company and are looking for Project managers. May be up your street, may not?

  • try using conti's (boom-boom-tish)

Bit of a cheeky one, but I reckon I'm in a similar sort of position to Stradam and that even if it's not up his/her street, it might well be up mine.

But, I can't PM you because I've only just signed up (been lurking hereabouts for ages, honest) and I'm still in the pesky nursery. Any chance you could either PM me with contact details, or drop me a line at johnATsabine.org.uk?

    Cheers
