I personally do cycle faster and feral when Im drunk.
I still never had an accident while riding drunk, but fell off loads of times cycling sober! -

Cycling when drunk is great, i do it more than i care to think about. I can happily caddy a friend home from the pub on my handlebars - (My record for drunk friend caddying is from The Steels on Haverstock hill to Mile End...), legs... feel no pain. great. cars become blurs, and going along the canal is definitely more fun during the dead of night.... Infact just last Saturday: Drunk got me to Camden from Hackney's Famous Hackney quicker than a Black Cab that knew two pissed guys on bikes were trying to race him. - you should have seen his face when were sitting on the step waiting.... (legs were a bit shaky mind... )
Cycling when drunk makes being drunk cheaper. - period. two / three drinks, and a hard ride - all the cardio vascular really gets booze going through the veins. it's excellent.
I will also add that i too have never crashed or hurt myself while drunk, but i haven't while sober either.... - I've been riding drunk and sober for 8 years now....

Because you know your drunk and dont wanna be killed dead by a car.haha like when you're standing up to walk to the toilet in the pub, and you move REAL slow because you want everyone to believe you're sober?

Too fucking dangerous, I tried to ride home with my girlfriend whom was drunk (but appear sober and still managed to walk), it's fucking scary seeing her weaving about in an (fortunately) empty New Oxford Street, and took a good 30 second to set off.
end up walking all the way back to her flat, at least my heart's not in my mouth anymore.
another thing is balance, this is a bicycle we're talking about, you need to walk real slow in order not to loose your balance, it's harder to cycle slow without loosing your balance while drunk.

it's true, even when I'm drunk I can still work out that if I try to ride like I normal do (fast), I'm going to die!
So I consciously slow down a lot.
Anyway, I've only ridden in this beautiful London drunk a handful of times. I try to avoid doing it if I can. Not exactly the responsible thing to do. -

that just about sums it up, difference is if u fall over you might die!

I suppose it affects different people in different ways.
I've cycled home pretty well when I was too drunk to stand still or walk in a straight line. I actually find it more difficult to walk or do other non-cycling stuff when pissed, than to cycle. Maybe I'm truly at one with my bike or similar pseudo-buddhist bollocks.
The only problem for me (aside from the increased reaction time) is the fear-reducing effect of booze. I do counteract it by riding slower and being more careful, but fear is good, I'd rather ride with fear than without.

Reason why you don't take night buses:
you do have to know where to draw the line though... or have to know if someone has knicked your front wheel...
-

in all seriousness you can learn to crash well while riding stoned... or so my study subjects have reported.
the "fun" part is riding when you're too drunk to look at the road in front of you... just look at your front wheel and hope.
I have a theory that it's easier to ride fixed drunk than a geared bike drunk... being forced into cadence helps keep you upright!

when your drunk you drive slower and more carefully, taking less risks.
Because you know you're drunk and dont wanna be killed dead by anything.I wonder how many drunk drivers have had the same thought?

Tynan loves drunks
I've undertaken a long-term study of cycling while under the influence of alcohol and other narcotics. My findings are intriguing: cycling while sober is actually more dangerous than cycling while drunk. Out of the entire sample group, all of the cyclists had crashed at least ten times while sober, whereas none of them had ever crashed while drunk. This is proof that to avoid cycling accidents, everyone should only cycle while drunk.
