Yowzers! Gotta hurt.

Is "frame and forks" track racing slang for "cock and balls"?
-
• #11
He couldn't have broken his cock and/or balls, they're made out of iron, like the rest of him.
-
• #12
How many £'s of damage do you reckon?
-
• #13
That was horrible. The front wheel seemed to slip out so easily. From what the Guardian article said above no one was seriously hurt which is quite surprising.

Bauge is a fucking wanker in that race
-
• #15
shame

Blimey. Fucking ridiculous! I didn't realise track cycling was such a contact sport. Really scary to see it happen, and in the slow motion it is quite clear how it happened. Two bikes wrecked, plus the toe straps meant they stay strapped in, which is even more dangerous. Scary stuff.

Best foot retention.
Road pedals and straps.

you are allowed some argy-bargy in Keirin, though I'm not sure if the UCI even know themselves how much, compared to japanese keirin..
the whole leaning on other riders does get done, but when you watch something like that it seems pretty pointless at that level

I know why they do it! I'm just pointing out how much more dangerous it is, since your feet don't naturally clip out when you crash. Wasn't some tour rider in a big crash the first year he wore Look pedals, and claimed he'd have broken his leg if he'd been in toe straps?

Bauge did nothing wrong. That kind of shit goes down all the time.
Hoy appeared to receive an unlucky hit to the arm from Sireau, causing him to rock the front wheel sharply and go down.

Hard Lines Hoy.

he got relegated, so what did all that posing get him? fuck all.
-
• #23
Why was Bauge relegated? Certainly not for Hoy's crash since he was in front doing fuck all at that stage.
-
• #24
well no, not for that, nowt to do with him, but maybe for jumping the pacer at the beginning? and being a general knob-end
I like a bit of a tear up as much as the next man, but at this level you usually see the winners are the ones who ride either fucking fast (hoy) or with impeccable tactical skill without getting into trouble
-
• #25
Yeah I watched it again and he was scrappy but nothing too unusual save for overtaking the pacer as you said. I guess it depends on what they've relegated for earlier in the meet.
I wonder if the Frenchies had words before about employing these tactics or if it all just went a bit pear-shaped?
