Boyd and I did not make it to the final. One of the younger team tried to change across me (coming down my inside for a change, fool) at which point I took the spokes out of one of their back wheels. Unfortunately this caused me to lose the touch with the main bunch and then the lack of fitness really started to show. We got 8th in our heat, 1st 7 went through to the final.

Good racing tho... really fast.

Would rather have been in the final, but this was second best...

I am always amazed that there are not more crashes in madisons!
I guess you could count yourself lucky it slowed you down rather than took you out completely..
copenhagen was carnage by the sounds of it

Boyd (my brother) and I did not make the final. One of the younger teams changes across me almost causing a crash (destroyed his Campag Pista rear wheel on my front wheel nut), that put me out the back chasing to get back on and then my lack of fitness kicked in. We eventually lost a lap... Finished 8th, first 7 went through to the final.

So as I had time on my hands I took some pics of the final. No point in wasting the trip to Newport...
