  • I have no where to ride to and salisbury is so small that i can go wandering but still be back in 20 minutes.

    im getting antsy.

  • Go for a proper ride!

If I lived that far away from shitty London traffic I'd be out in the lanes all the time.

    Naked Stonehenge loops FTW!

  • Move to London. problem solved.

  • try heading out to Marlborough or Stonehenge

  • hit the lanes/backroads. i don't understand why people choose to ride on busy stop start city streets when you are only 30odd minutes away from country roads

  • some rides (ignore the US ones. Unless you meant Salisbury in the US, in which case ignore the UK ones)

  • Cycle out to The Compasses Inn, ace!

I've with Hipster. Riding in traffic gets old real quick. Most riding in London end up riding through inner and outer suburbia unless you're crossing the center which only takes 30 min even if your crossing right over central London anyway. Having to cycle for 45 min though ever sprawling suburbia just to get to some nice countryside sucks.

  • Only takes me 20-25 mins to get out to Herfordshire from Stoke Newington though it's not an enjoyable 20 minutes.

I'm heading out to Kent which means going out round to avoid Dartford / Gravesend + getting lost time + me being slow = 40 - 45 min estimated time for me, but I never actually timed it (clocks scare me) so I'm not really sure.

  • 30-40 minutes to get out to Denham where the clubruns start from here.
Pity the Chilterns are still full of fucktards in cars.

The A2 is really underrated as a cycle route.

have you tried masturbation? usually works for me.

  • Nothing to do in Salisbury? get your fighting shoes on and get down the Chapel (somehow voted nightclub of the year 2003).

  • Isn't it known as Harare these days?
    I'd be 'antsy' too face

Ha! I was driving down the A2 (it may be the A20) once and saw two people with touring bikes looking very nervous stood on the verge, looking at a map somewhere near the M25 once. Poor buggers, it looked like one of those, "I think we took a wrong turn back there" moments. Felt quite concerned for them but it was past them as soon as I realised what was happening.

I bet they grew to love it.

I was living in Greenwich when I first got a road bike. First day I rode straight up the A10 to Cambridge. Second day I rode straight down the A2 to Bluewater (I needed to go to Boots and wanted a bike ride, it seemed like a good idea). Happy times.

  • I can't believe you have nowhere to go.

I ride down from Swindon to Salisbury because there's excellent riding around there. You've got the whole of the New Forest practically on your doorstep, an excellent run up the river to Amesbury and some lovely lanes heading out towards Yeovil.

  • you should venture out my way in kent, lots of country lanes and hardly any traffic :>}

I went to school in Amesbury.

  • Yoevil represent! All my family is from round there, my mum grew up in Chard...

  • And you're actually admitting that on the internet?

  • Its more interesting than the other side, they're from hertfordshire...

  • Point taken

  • I have ventured well out into the country lanes, but I am running out of routes I remember. Wouldnt hurt to have some company too.
