I was drunk, it seemed like a fun thing to do at the time. And do you know what? It WAS fun. Just like that night I spent with [CENSORED].

Similar thing happened to me. I was walking past a nice bike and noticed that the crown races weren't seated properly, fortunately I had a workstand and the appropriate crown race setting tool in my pocket, so I disassembled and re-assembled the headset and sorted the problem there and then.

I would be cautious about messing with people's brakes. They may be loose but they would be what the rider is used to. I would be pissed if I were riding with loose brakes that I didn't know had been tightened if a light tap to slow down elicited a grinding halt.
However, I have anonymously oiled someone's chain at work once before. I just couldn't bear to see it dry and rusting.

Ive done up peoples QR's before, youd be surprised how many people ride with them open.
Also put notes on peoples bikes telling them their forks are backwards etc.

That's what my friend said, but my thinking was that I didn't actually tighten the cable, I just recentred the brake and tightened the allen bolt at the back so it was no longer hanging loosely against the side of the wheel. I wouldn't imagine that would affect the braking performance that much, or even at all.
Maybe i already have.
Well I certainly have, so she's doing alright at the moment.

Some like it . . . some don't. Each to their own. Tho I have been told goose fat is rather popular in some circles.

...is the 'WiganWill Fanclub' thread!
Last night I was admiring a bike that was locked up outside a pub, when I noticed that the front brake was very loose and resting against the rim on one side. Realising I had the appropriate allen key in my pocket, I quickly tightened it up and centred it. I can't work out whether or not I should have done that. What do you think?
