Wanted: Ambrosio Excellence 32h rim - blue

Posted on
  • Bit of a long shot, this, but following a failed theft attempt this evening my bike is in need of a new rim to replace the one bent out of shape as some shitting little twatbag tried to bust the cable lock securing my front wheel to a railing.

    So, to match the rear rim, I'm in hearty need of an Ambrosio Excellence 32h rim - in dark blue. I'll pay retail for an unused one.

  • Sorry to hear, where did you leave it? I can't help you with a rim i'm afraid. Maybe you can true the rim back into shape or is it really knackered?

  • beautiful rims those Ambrossio Excellence, i only see them rarely.
    Last time was on ebay, i'll keep my eyes peeled for you.
    At least you still have your bike. thats a massive bonus.

    Round the corner from Battersea High St, opposite work. Probably same shits that stole my rear light on Tues. The rim was bent too far out of shape to true, they'd really yanked it to try to break the lock.

    Cheers mate - yes, I only bought them about a month ago, was really loving them. I'm not sure they do them in dark blue any more.

  • I have a set of these in red, beautiful rims sorry for your loss.
    I know they are not easy to come by so this is a sympathy bump

  • Ambrosio still make them so in theory you should be able to get them. I always bought mine from Cycles Dauphin on top of Box Hill, near Dorking. Last year I had a pair of fixed wheels built using a pair by Outspoken Cycles. They don't list them on their website but ordered them in for me.

  • There's an ebay dealer in based Hungary who had a few blue, gold and red ones a wee while ago. I think his seller name has 'campag' in it. 'Campagnolsr' I think it is.

    I've got his email somewhere I'll try to dig it out for you in a bit.

  • Thanks guys, that's very helpful - I'll follow up these leads.

  • @skully - sure it's not this fella;

    Thanks for your help mate - these rims seem to be rare as rocking horse shit.

  • I bought a pair of pedals off him this week and they were here in 2 or 3 days, great stuff.
