dibs depending on how long the thread is?
-
• #3
thread is about 3inches.if it's not long enough your local bike shop can extend the threads or you can do it yourself if you have a die cut thing.then just cut then down.most forks are made to be cut down
that what i was going to do
-
• #4
are you sure you don't mean 3cm? just in the photo it looks a bit smaller than 3 inches
-
• #5
just to confirm, threads are 4 cm.just measured rather than guessing
-
• #6
sorry, it's too long for me, undibs
-
• #7
cut them down.most forks are made to be cut down
-
• #8
so......they will fit anyones steerer tube as long as it's between 170mm and 200mm.
-
• #9
i would think so, i was going to fit them to a 55 cm frame by having the threads extended and chopping the spare off.i'm not an expert but my mates who are were going to do this for me.
by that principal you could thread and cut them to fit any steerer less than 200mm.
i hope that makes sense -

http://www.londonfgss.com/attachments/5687d1234207092-dscf0009.jpgTo my knowledge SL blades have only ever come in straight blade form, oval for road, round for track
http://www.novacycles.com/catalog/images/COL_SRFB_OVL_09.jpgI don't know of an SL unicorn blade, columbus did make some tandem fork blades in uni crown.

Either way, they are rubbish tig welded unicrown forks.
PS, your mate is wrong, that fork clearly has a crown. And no, Just you that is stupid, I know what I am talking about.
-
• #22

o.k you've got me interested, i want to know what there made from.
as i said i got these checked out by nigel from wilsons, he thought they were kosher he;s the one you told me they were SL, they were lighter than forks he had made from reynolds 531.they can't be plain old steel as they be heavier than they are.they're old, you can tell from the age to the chrome.i sell architect designed furniture for a living and i'm used to see vintage metalwork, it very hard to fake old metal finishes.
theres columbus framesets with this style of forks on www.matuzmaster.hu/en
i'd like more info on them for future reference, and so i can sell them correctly

Right if thats the case, try this:
Columbus chrome road forks 700c.
Tig Welded
a pair of road forks.
I have no way to measure the rake so I am guessing at 29mm.
drilled.
tight clearances (there is no brake bridge on a fork)
Possibly columbus tubing
200mm steerer. can be chopped down to fit.
perfect threads
excellent chrome.
£20
a very nice pair of track forks.subtle rake about 29mm.drilled.
tight clearances, the tyre only just misses the brake bridge.
super light columbus SL tubing.
200mm steerer. can be chopped down to fit.
perfect threads
excellent chrome.
