Wheel? (pre-built)

Posted on
  • so i have an old frame which i would like to use to form a fixed bike - mainly because i assume it is easier than building up one with gears when i have not-a-lot of experience.

anyway, there's no way i'm going to build my own wheel with a fixed hub, so.. where can i buy one? doesn't have to be particularly spectacular looking, and not very expensive would be good too.

i saw some halo aerorage ones, but i'm guessing a fair bit of the £90 they cost is for shiny paint. i would prefer cheaper and simpler is possible.

but if they are the best option..

    advice? thank you!

  • you want 1 wheel right? i was going to suggest planet x track wheelset. try ebay for single rear wheels.

  • well i'll need a front one too, just assumed it would be cheaper to get one seperately.. do you mean these? http://www.planet-x-warehouse.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Fixed_and_Track_281.html (out of stock..)

  • yep. try ebay. or classifieds here...

  • pm sent

  • That P-X wheelset is pretty good so far..

  • Not in stock at the mo.

  • I know. Just saying.. coz it might pay to wait for a set if he/she can't find something decent.

  • ive got a wheelset if your interested. taures remex rims on taurus hubs. 36 front and rear. miche 18t sprocket, dura ace lockring and an 18t freewheel on the other side. some pretty much brand new bontrager tyres, tubes, ready to go. pm if your interested

I agree. Best wheelset you can buy for the money. I got desperate and went for some of that Bankrupt stuff on eBay. Mavics to novatec hubs for £99. Shouldn't be too bad for a commuter.
