Prav, get her on the bay. I got a 5 speed step-through Peugeot for my lady for £28.

True - I got a 10-speed peugeot for my dad for £8 in 2007..
Seller knocked off 2 quid because they couldn't find one of the pedals.
thing is - people are paying £30 for those carbolite frames alone...! (nonames)Was hoping that someone may have a more modern hybrid bike etc?

I have a good friend who has a Ladies 21'' Claud butler Mixte in 531 that I think would fit the bill. PM me. FE

cheers andy - nice to be able to show her some pics + definite prices!
Forgot one criteria - she said it must be *lightweight* as she has to carry up 4 flights of stairs.

It will keep her fit, she'll have firm legs and good guns on her Prav. just look at it like looking after your investment...

ha!
Having spoken to the lady in question, a modern alloy-framed hybrid is preferred.
You should have seen her face lifting a classic steel 3-speed this morning!
(Olympic power-lifters could learn a thing or two from the grunting and gurning displayed.) -

^ of course thanks for asking mate :)
Hello all,
I am after a bike for a friend - she is 5'7"-5'8" tall, 31" inside leg.
Rider hasn't cycled for 10+ years and has insisted on a step-through
Will be used for leisurely rides round Richmond Park and possibly short commuting.
Ideally with gears, but if you have a SS / fixed I have the bits to revert it.
Clearance for 32 x 700c tyres + mudguards at a minimum.
26" wheels are also fine.
Nothing too fancy please - cost should be under £150.
(Something like Kattt's bike would be awesome!)
cheers,
prav
