thats what google replied with

  • That's not much to go on, they're extremely broad topics... narrow it down a bit, think of a question, or start at 19th century philosophy and work your way up to present day?!

  • Herman Miller maybe for high design? http://www.hermanmiller.com/ award winning furniture, which they have won design awards for.

  • im so glad i left school

fuck essays and all 3 of the words you listed

  • Baudrillard for his (excellent) ramblings on hyper reality, aspiration and perceived value?

  • umm its got to be modern i've just finished the semotic part so now just post modernism and high design. i like crazyjames high design idea - cheers for that. would a fixed wheel bike work for post modernism?

  • Hand in a blank essay. That would be pretty postmodern of you.

  • +1, postmodernism does not, and never has, existed.

  • i would do that if my uni agreed but the cunts seem to think it did exist so while they do i need to write about it grrrrr

  • write about why it does not exist then. If your argument is well constructed you should get points and points mean prizes.

  • Not necessarily, it's very possible you will just piss off your moderator who will have strict marking criteria.

  • Read Barthes' Mythologies. You can even make it cycling related using the section on the Tour de France.

  • write about the failure of postmodernism and fukuyama.

  • If you want to talk about Postmodernism in the context of architecture and anthropology, then read From Bauhaus to Our House. Good book and written by Tom Wolfe (the Electric Kool-Aid acid Test, Bonfire of the Vanities ) so very digestable.

I have a feeling it's not what you are after though... Maybe just talk about Andy Warhol

  • wtf

I'm with The Crane. Ignorance ftw.

  • is it really immature that the name francis fukuyama still makes me giggle?

  • Read Barthes' Mythologies. You can even make it cycling related using the section on the Tour de France.

    +1 on Barthes

also try "Travels in Hyperreality" and "A Theory of Semiotics" by Umberto Eco

there are loads more but to be honest you'll likely be swamped by these.

good luck, postmodernism alone is a mindblower and can change your life.

  • Jean-Francois Lyotard, The Postmodern Condition.
