Front Brake Issue

Morning,

I'm running a Shimano 105 front brake and it's developed a lot of play in the centre section (part that joins with the right brake pad). Therefore, under braking the right pad gets pushed forward and effects stopping power.

I've taken it apart and tightened the fucker as much as possible (without movement being compromised), but can't sort it. I'll take it to my LBS if i can't fix it this afternoon.

My tiagra caliper has the same roblem, but I can still pull a one-finger endo if I'm a bit keen.
Is there a plastic washer in there that may be damaged?

There is a plastic washer... and it may well be fucked. Would disassembling and replacing this make a difference?

I know i'm being a bed-wetter - Just a bit disconcerting to see so much movement.
