I'm off to Italia for a weeks holiday with the lady tomorrow.
We are travelling from Bari to Rome and then on up to Ancona.

If anyone has any tips on bike shops/markets/velodromes in those areas it would be great to get some details.

Got to try and do it subtly to avoid the Mrs leaving me for basing our 'day trips' on bikes but I'll give it a go.

Any positive leads will be rewarded.

amalfi coast line is beautiful... just south of naples.

for bike stuff wouldnt have a clue.

The velodrome in Rome got closed down and turned into...... a waterpark :(

bit of a drive from rome but chuck a bit of al green on on the drive down the narrow roads, and all is gravy.

perfect stop off on the route from bari though.

and i hear there's a great polo court in rome

JOL i got a really good friend and an ex-girlfriend who lives there let me know and i can hook you up... good friend, sets ups American A in italy loads some really good bars and restaurants. ;) pm if you want me to get you in contact.

JOL, if you're going to Rome, i'd recommend going to Ostia on the coast, good beach scene & food & the ruins of the ancient seaport of Rome are amazing, also the fascist playground of EUR is worth a look

cheers for info everyone. Had a great time till our flight was cancelled this morning. Cue a drive from Ancona to Milan and still not sure if we can make it back. Wish I had known as we drove through forli earlier. Hope to see you all sometime soon!
