Looking for route

  • hello,

i am travelling by train with my bike from salisbury to glasgow this weekend. part of the journey will involve a short hop from waterloo to kings x, looking at route planner it seems to be on a couple of A roads. i don't know the area and hoped someone could give a safe route.

    all the best

  • its easy go out of Waterloo station, go over the bridge, go strightish (you will know when you see it) onto the aldwych, then up the kingsway and bobs your fathers brother, I used to live near waterloo and have never had a problem with that route

  • Its gonna take you like 10 or 15 mins to ride it, as long as you aren't towing a suitcase behind you?

  • TVM, no suitcase, largish bergen only and time is on my side, with 50 min for connection.

    cheers

  • Yep, those A roads will be fine to cycle on, no problem. Just make sure you don't go down the Aldwych tunnel! :)

Route such as this would be fine:

  • Aren't we all...

  • Couldn't you catch a train to Bristol and then one North to Glasgow? That would be quicker surely?

TVM , ref the train route, i spoke with rail enquiries and my main concern was cost, part of the reason i can't go on friday. i think that the west route up is quicker, but it was not available on sat morning. hopefully i will only have to do this another couple of times (with a bit more notice) as i will be working in london from about may this year and then have the option of trains or flights from stanstead.

    take care
