at the time when i bought mine, halfords had massive discounts on them, mainly localised to the out of town megastores.
Also worth trying ot get hold of a trade card and looking out for dents and damaged corners etc as they can discount those. Is worth spending the extra money for the ball bearing draws

Try machine mart or screw fix. One with wheels is a worth while investment.

I use a huge snap-on one I got second hand for my car restoration stuff. If you can get something like that, the quality is top-notch. I also picked up a Machine Mart Clarke one like your photo. Around the £130 mark, maybe a bit less, and brilliant for all my bike stuff that only gets light use compared to the car kit. I'd take it over the Halfords stuff I checked out in store.

am concerned about the gay nugget rummaging in a toolbox

i am currently looking for a new tool case, my spares and tools rattle around in an old bluebird record case, which frankly is a nightmare.. is there a cheaper version of this around, otherwise i'll just buy a standard aluminium flightcase (40cm x 30cm x 20cm) and fill it with foam layers to keep it all snug..

I just use the entire shed, and keep it so messy that no-body else dare venture into 'MY' shed, that way I know exactly where everything is and have no worry of others touching/moving them.

:)This is good, but because of seasonal changes I keep having to move between the basement and my shed. Takes at least until mid-season to shift everything. Bah.

But what about the Machine Mart one?

I am now in need of a decent sized toolbox - i need something in the range of about 50l and was thinking that the wheeled versions would be handy. Anyone have any suggestions? I want something cheap but sturdy.

impressive dredge hippy... of all the people
LOL
8 years ago - thanks!!!
Also, that just a random photo?!
my tool collection has now (thankfully) outgrown my incredibly shitty Stanley toolbox and i am need or something a bit larger with various compartments in which to store all of my manly accoutrements. can anyone recommend a good, burly box? are there such things as bike specific ones? i wanted a bright red 'traditional' fold-out one originally but the ones they had at halfords were a fucking wretched shade of burgundy.
is it possible to get something like this for sensible money?:
