Not ridden both but I go for the cross check as you may only be interested in ss / fixed now but you never know what the future will hold and the possibility for gears is useful.

Have'nt ridden either but my first thought was...
The pompino has a slopping top tube and the crosscheck a horizontal top tube. Definitly worth taking this into account. Horizontal top tube look better, but slopping might be a better idea for off road.
Thinking of one or other for mixed on/off road. I'm only interested in setting up as SS/fixed. I know the CC can take wider tyres. From a ride quality perspective is there any noticeable difference?
Any one had / ridden both and able to express a preference and why?
