Chrome Aces

When I visited King Kog recently they gave me a pack of playing cards called Chrome Aces for nowt. The cards are cool. They've each got a photo and name etc of a courier from different cities. Maybe an idea for the forum? Could use Wiganwill's photos or take new ones?

Cool idea, but should sell for money, even if small money otherwise how will it benefit a cause (I presume the courier emergency fund) ?

thing is, cards aren't cheap to make. i was looking into these for some old cards i drew for my tattoo portfolio. thought it would be neat to leave as my "card" (hahaha get it. man i'm fcking witty) but theyre really not cheap to make.

i got a pack of chrome aces at the NACCC. chrome gave out some really neat stuff then. but these cards are a generally a great idea. they raise money for injured couriers 'round the states.

I did look in to the idea of having the fixed gear pics put on to cards but as Emo says it is expensive and you have to get a large run. And when I showed the pics to one company they said there would be an "ugly mugs" surcharge. Not sure what that means, I assumed it was a technical term used in printing.

If we used my pics then the money could benefit the "Will can't afford a social life" fund. :)

I was a working messenger in NYC when they shot the photo's for this, but didn't want my photo taken as London has my heart. It would have felt dirty.

It was originally an idea that Squid had, but as Chrome is one of Cycle Hawlk's sponsors (or something), they were the ones who did it.

I don't know if King Kog paid for them from Chrome, I hope they did, but they were done as a fundraiser for the messenger emergency funds of each of the cities that produced a suit, San Fran, Chi town, NYC, and Portland.

I bought a pack from Sarah Murder of san fran fame, never used them cause I can't seem to remember any card games when I want to play with them...

I'll see your American Crankset and raise you one slightly bent RPM one.

If any of you guys have any experience this mightn't be a bad idea.... make the screen for the whole deck and get some sheets of card.. It would cut the cost and it would be an excuse to get together and drink.
