Thanks for posting, Matt.
Might give it a go when I get stuck devising my own, or wefunkfm ceases to fill the peripheral void - not that I can actually hear very much apart from my own heart beat.

Can anyone suggest some good tunes to work out to? I don't have much high tempo stuff in my collection. All I can think of off the top of my head that I have on my computer is some Pendulum...

Fuckin' bunch of try-hards... Pffft!!!
checks progress of turbo roller order -

TBH, I could just stick on 45 minutes of white noise (the electro-acoustic phenomenon rather than the trippy group) and it would be just as effective.
Don't listen to teenslain - he's Chris Carmichael's bitch, and he knows it.

Pantera, Sepultura, Metallica, Megadeth
Basement Jaxx, Astral Projection, Pendulum, Matt Darey dj sets, Dj Misjah
Muse, Kasabian, AC/DC, Franz FerdinandBut it depends what you like that motivates you and is a bit towards the higher tempo end of the scale.
I did the first video today. It was cool.
For a change I wasn't thinking about how much better riding outside is. -

Some dirty German Techno would probably do it for me. Be nice to put a mix playlist in order with some nice ambient for the chill out periods I am going to have a bash at this later

For a change I wasn't thinking about how much better riding outside is.me too, it was sweaty!
I was thinking although it looks nice outside, it's actually cold and windy as fuck, and there are twats in cars everywhere. I have no guilt as it's the only way to get that sort of intensity into an hour.
I did it on rollers though, like a man.

Like a lady-man.
I rode 100k on 53x13, half of it into that fucking headwind, and including a few minor climbs. So ner.

Oliver
I recently listened to the whole of that album on my I-Pod during a flight from NY to Arizona. What worried me was that, by the end, I thought that I was beginning to understand it.

Why? Were you training on the plane?

Even more worrying is that Lou Reed in his dotage now seems to try to pretend that he was never ironic when praising it in the 70s.

Worst bit? The fucking PT didn't record a fucking thing from the turbo session. Murder death kill!!! Fscking technology toss.

I smacked it up a few until my body went "haha you silly twat, you think you're bmmf now or something.. sit back down and die muppetfucker", or words to that effect.

I probably will one day, just to keep my hand in. I'm making no special effort to climb well at the moment, so just relying on genetic superiority :p

it's funny you should mention that, I'm doing some overgeared road work soon.
and some hill reps.
but 100k on 110GI, must have only taken 30 minutes on that gear. and the wind/hills don't matter because you are not fat enough for those to be a problem.

Yeah, I averaged 120mph, slipstreaming Dave Le Grys all the way down the M4.

53 x13 is the gear Jacques Anquetil used for his hour record attempt towards the end of his career. or maybe it was 52 x13?
how can you ride that on the road? sounds painful.
Here is a web site to help motiviate you when you are training indoors on the rollers.
http://www.thesufferfest.com
It is quite well thought out; you get the motivational video as well as prompts for when to do different cadences and the like as part of interval training.
