The Ramones, half of The Stooges, Delirium, The Gun Club, Daft Punk plus millions of others... Saw so many great shows there and a great place to DJ at... Don't think I ever really found my way around it, always seemed to get lost... Weird cuz I've been going there since the early-80s... I'll miss the old dump...

I did a little project last night photographing as many of the que as I could.
Worst toilets in London but seen some crackin' gigs there. RIP. -

I think it was my first proper London venue, it's a shame, going to miss it. Heard a rumour that it's being torn down any ideas what's going in it's place? Hope it's not going to become London's largest "99p Store".

ha! I was at that Daft Punk '97 gig too; they borrowed Leftfield's soundsytem (which nearly collapsed the roof at Brixton Academy) and it was the best sound I've ever heard at a gig before or since.
Was Delirium before or after Sin??

Delirium was 85/86 I think, maybe Murtle's memory's better than mine (tho' I doubt it!)... It was pre-house, they were just starting to play Detroit stuff, Marshall Jefferson et al... The minute the bleepy stuff started I was outta there! Still gutted at missing PE's secret Delirium gig on their first UK tour...

Well, the Astoria is no more :( I'm pretty sad about it. My first proper gig there when I was 13 before I moved to London and had some awesome nights there.

Any fond memories of the place?
I played there in 2003 (I think, might have been 2002) - supported Röyksopp and Telepopmusik - good laugh, being local to me, I could invite all my friends.
But he couldn't turn up.
I think Teenslain said he also played there (???)

Don't be cross, railing against it won't stop it.
