Yeah, it ain't that steep, but it's damn relentless. Which exit did you guys use?
How did ya find spinning downhill? I've got 69" and in the tunnel you can easy get 30mph going downhill probably more if you draft a slowish car or bus. I need to practice spinning at 150+rpm. I've seen people do close to 200rpm on audaxes before, but it looks fucking scary, especially on peak district descents.

took a load of photos while we were in Liverpool doing the Tunnel of Doom Recce, but no video of us going thru as planned cos' my camera turned itself off when i hit any bumps... we'll have to sort something out for the actual run....

I was running 70" and it was fine, very spinny but not too bad due to the lack of traffic. We went straight through to the library exit, tough to keep up speed towards the end.

Thanks man. I recon Tockie hill near town is pretty similar in length and gradient. I'm going to hit that a couple of times this week. The gradient is a bit lame to start, but kicks up for a tough finish. Only one set of TLs aswell.
If anyone fancies a hilly training ride on Thurs (day or eve) gimme a shout. No is 07783182458
