  • Used, new, whatever. Me wanty! Anyone?

  • make em from old belts

  • Make your own. Not hard.

    bah. Greasy's too quick.

  • I had considered that.
I'll look for an old belt.

  • i bought some the other day from brixton cycles.....they freakin rule!

no more clunking around the pub in spd's!

  • How wide is the strapping on the real things?

  • you can buy them from evans as well...
straps are about an inch wide i think.

  • they are really good (not better than sidi-time) but they are massively overpriced for what they are, but isn't everything...

i would love a polo-mallet-style walk through of how to make some out of a belt...weekend project on cards.

  • Lots of people at polo have home made versions. Swing by and take a look.
Mine have done 4 months so far, still holding nice and firm considering how much abuse they get from all the skidding. They stand up on their own so it's easy to slip in, and if you're riding the backs of the pedals there's no horrible grinding that you get with clips on concrete.

Tip: better having a used belt, rather than brand new, because on a new belt the leather still has to stretch.

I think its better to use a nylon skatebelt. Well, in my opinion it is but then I haven't tried leather!

  • I started with a nylon skatebelt, but the bolts tore through the belt within 6 weeks.

  • I stand corrected then!

  • Nah, each to their own. Sounds like you've had success with nylon belts. Plus, that way you avoid the grief that I get from Object for non-vegan straps.

    with thanks to MA3K.

did you use washers between the bolts and the belt?

  • Yes

  • Just been for a spin on homemade powergrips Mk1. Too long, hard to get in to.

MK2 requires some sewing machining so I'll leave it till after tea.

  • Did you really just make Some power grips in less than hour?
Or were you wokring on them previously.

  • Yep. Less than an hour. Got a fully equipped workshop and I'm good with my hands though ;)

  • Lucky...
I've got a hallway and childs toolbag fulla crap.

  • Mk2. Seems to work OK! It's pissing down and dark so I'll have a proper play tomorrow.

  • Translation

Ha... that translation is hilarious :)

I saw on the right pedal. The longitudinal and cross the fold, 2.

XうShimano, Inc. If you have an old XT hole in the corner like a pedal, stop using it and screw sides. KERE easy to put a foot to the left and right spacing screwed shut.

Talk to the lip of the hole around corners without holes.

The real statement with a pedal to be extended to a belt around the outer corners.

262 If you use the pedal for the Rhodes station, 26cm from the right was first running shoes.

  • But well done Jammy... gonna give it a go myself :)
