Offered: Colagno Road Frame

  • I´ve seen a few bargains recently on Spanish secondhand websites, this for example:

    http://www.segundamano.es/vi/13620774.htm?ca=8_s

    54" Colagno.
    100 Euros negotiable.

If anyone is interested I think I can track down more.

  • Shipped?

  • Exactly, youré off...

You would have to sort the shipping yourself, or pick it up, if time wasn´t an issue.
    There are plenty there.

  • Be careful, that is no more a Colnago than I am. Definitely faux.

  • Really? That might one of the problems. It was just an idea, because of ´el crisis´, all kinds of stuff is coming out of the garages. Most of it unused.

  • for that price i'd take a punt at it. Any idea on how much shipping usually is?

  • i dont think its a colnago because of the clearences annnnnd because the forks dont have the colnago sign on either side of the top bits

Now I don't know spanish but is this a 55cm frame that's £1750 cheaper than if brought here?

Oh man I wish I spoke spanish.

  • Don't want to appear cynical but when I see a Pin F3 for €240, my immediate thought is the kind of scam that was rife on Gumtree a while back where you contact the seller (even when you are in same country/speak same language) and basically they talk you into fronting cash and paying for shipping, then... guess the rest... proceed with CAUTION. Remember the old adage, if appears too good to be true, well, it probably is.

  • I've never seen a Colnago with mudguard eyes before.

  • yeh, that's why I wish I knew spanish. Ah well. I don't even have the 240 to spend now anyway.

  • Colnago
    Colnago
I have dyslexia but only in Italian.

I think he has ommited a zero. I doubt it is a scam, this is a national site, and you can denounce people in Spain very easily.
If anyone is serious then I am happy to email them.
I bought a Pinarello Montello 1984 road bike recently for very little money.

  • Ramon, I don't think that anyone is suggesting that all of Spain are crooks !! That is certainly not the case, but it does reek of a Gumtree scam. That is definitely not a Colnago and E240 for a Pinarello sounds just like the sort of thing that used to be rife on Gumtree, also a national site and it doesn't make all Brits crooks either. Scumbags everywhere mate !

Steer well clear young 'un. And have a splendid day.

It is a scam, indeed. And plenty of them in the Spanish Segunda Mano: Top-end bikes at ridiculously low prices. When you contact the seller they send you a poorly written email requesting money and informing you that the bike would be delivered to your door by a doggy courier company which has a fake web page.

There are some bargains to be had but they don't come up very often. For example they are old racers decently equipped for 300-400 euros. Frames however use to be produced in Spain as there were a handful of framebuilder working in the 70s and 80s. The majority of them are now gone. The quality is OK but definitely second to most top-Italian framebuilders.

Most frames use to come often in small sizes.

  • it's nice to think it isn't tho.

  • Oh well. Thanks for the heads up Edd.

In fact most of these scams appear to be from people who are not Spanish-speakers: for the listing of the components they use an internet translation utility and the results are quite amusing:

Chris King headset, for example, appear translated in Spanish as "Headphones Jesus King"

There are threads in some spanish forums with the most hilarious examples of the listings of these scam ads
