yeah i have that info printed out- tried highlighting by terminal to try and see where i may have biggest chance but there are still too many variables.
terminal 1 is for non international
terminal 5 carries all BA long haul
but she could have flown into glasgow then got a domestic for all i know!

oh and to add to my woes the 21:00 time is not neccesarily the official time- just a comment from her.
dammit i should have just got the flight number, but didn't want to ruin suprise.

Depends which airline:
Eg Emirates would have come via Dubai
KLM through Schipol (Amsterdam)
Singapore airlines through singapore, etc.Don't know if that helps. Maybe see if any of the bigger carriers have flights arriving from their hub at 9pm?
-
• #8
do you know the airline?
-

Most long haul flights come into Terminals 4 and 5 I think. It's they are flying with BA it'll be 5 for sure.
-
• #10
nope.
how incredibly stupid i am, setting off in a bit so i am interested to see how my evening will turn out.
-
• #11
have you considered that if her flight is delayed you could be waiting around for many hours?
-
• #12
I've got a bit of time on my hands and have done a bit of digging:
Assuming she's flying from Tokyo (Narita) the only flight that will bring her into Heathrow at around 9pm is the Cathay Pacific flight from Hong Kong, scheduled for 20:15 but expected at 20:58 Terminal 3.
Good luck

send a cab to all uf the suspected terminals with a sign each.
get him to call you if he finds her. slip him a tip
turn your phone off when he does, so you don't have to pay the others. -
• #14
you also have four Bahrain flights arriving in terminal 3 at 21:00
and Bahrain is roughly half way to Tokyo

nice one jiml-
tried to find departure info from narita international website but can only get so far in english.brm- awesome idea!
smiling buddha- thank you for not ripping me to shreds for the original title/content, and also for pointing out all the stuff that had i known would make finding her a piece of cake!

good luck!

Don't meet them and then ignore all their calls. Move house and do not contact them for the next 2 years.
Then call them.
That will surprise them!

actually I have been there and done it - many years ago I waited for someone at an airport - only for her not to show - I caught up with her a few years later though..;) good luck

well i can report a success!
turns out she came into terminal 2 (i was headed for 3) but i wouldn't have bothered going without the confidence of the info you guys gave.
smiles all round and a big thank you!

nice one Oli!
i have a friend returning to london heathrow from japan tonight a supposedly arriving at 21:00. this is all information i have but i would like to suprise her by being there when she lands. problem is there are 5 terminals and i have discovered that her flight was not direct from japan to here and so cannot pinpoint the flight.
i'm trying to rule out some flights to increase my chances. a helpful woman at BAA told me japan is a big hub for flights and so the most likely outcome is that the flight originated somewhere else stopping off in japan rather than the other way around.
any help or info would be appreciated- esp if i've missed something that is obvious.
cheers in advance.
