If i went for the TT bike, i have a deep carbon front rim from my road bike id use for racing (if i do start competing in the summer)
-
• #3
that's fucking cheap for the dolan, buy it and split the parts out...
-
• #4
Yeah buy the Dolan, selling those parts will pay for re-fitting as you see fit
-
• #5
regards the disk use, would this only be suitable for track use only?
If not, it'll be the first part to go. -
• #6
If it's tubular then probably best kept for track (though I have a carbon disc which is tubular on the road)... If not then it's perfect for road too although still not massively practical as it's not great on windy days...

Do it man, it that's a real Hed disc it's worth a lot more than the bike is!! The bars are pricy enough too!!!

I have made an offer, hopefully all will be sorted tomorrow

Congrats man!!! Sweet as bike!!

i was fuckin watching that bike, he'd better not end the auction early :( !!!!
-
• #12
^ have you bid yet?
-
• #13
I know he'll take £350 to end early. I was emailing him about it when it was listed.
Was put off by the fact that the disc is a tub though. Had it been clincher I would have been all over it!
From what I can work out I think the frame must be a pre-cursa (£270 new with a fork, seatpost and headset) -

Right, just won the auction on ebay, very happy/excited!
Should be with me later this week, so ill post up in projects thread one its arrived and assembled with a few extras.

Good on you! Watched it end - looks like you got it for a decent price.
-
• #16
Very nice! What you going to change on it? colour coded cable ties must be the priority.
-
• #17
First off sell that disc. Plenty of people want them and will pay over the odds for them.

Basic plans are to;
- re-tape bars
- change over front wheel to 60mm deep carbon tub
= general service/maintenance
Will have a closer look when it arrives later this week.
What sort of value is the disk worth?
- re-tape bars

interesting.
I wont be selling for now though, but ill be on the lookout for a carbon rear wheel at some point in the future
Hi all,
Looks like the idea of restoring my Rayleigh Sun Solo could be over, due to 27" Wheels needed and a lack of time.
Ive been searching for a new/used bike for a while now and have come across 3 that i am very interested in;
and http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=160308153089&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=006
I currently have three reguarly used bikes;
This bike would be for training on roads and hopefully used on the odd track day in the summer (but this is not essential).
I have emailed the seller regards the 3rd TT bike and have many photos and a good description regards the bike. I would be looking at a price of around £350.
Which would you recommend out of the 3, as i am very undecided
thanks
