Wanted: Buying a cheap bike, really cheap

one of my friends is in uni and to get around town he wants a bike but doesnt have a clue where to start. ive been trying to talk him into getting a fixed wheel bike but he doesnt want one(he cant ride bikes very well). so then i suggested something like a town bike, touring bike, vintage racer , dutch bike, i know theyre different styles but i think he wants something thats mega easy to ride and not likley to get stolen.

i recommended a womens raleight racer bike or a raleigh shopper bike. the next problem is he says he wants to spend "around £5 to £10 at a car boot sale or something". he doesnt care what condition it is just as long as its rideable.

so id say im looking for a womans raleigh racer or shopper for around £20 ish, i might donate some cash to his funds. has anyone got anything like that?

and i live in the northwest and can travel as far as say manchester to pick it up. thanks.
