Saw them at the cycle show. I think they're pretty new.
Vittoria Randonneurs FTW.

Apparently they're not gonna be readily available till spring time, but will be available in all black, white, pink, green and purple, and will retail at £20.
Halo says their designed specifically for the fixed wheel market, with skidding an that in mind...but i guess time will tell as to how well they hold up?! Hmm.

You get 'em on ebay. See the link my first post.
Interesting what you say though. Looks perty. Just put off by the width...

Vittoria Randonneurs FTW.
What does FTW mean? I'm sure its obvious, but I cant figure it out.

Too much grip on those Halo tyres. Look like cyclocross tyres.

Yeah, i saw them on ebay, but there will be more colours available eventually. I kinda like the look of the purple ones:
I don't think the extra width will make much of a difference at all...it's only 1mm after all. I'm definitely keen to try them!Oh, and FTW means 'for the win'...a current forum favourite.

Nothing wrong with tyres that are not 23 mm wide many people run 25, 28 mm tyres and one or two even run 32 mm.
Down to the actual tyres. I have those tyres but the 26" version, they are ok but the puncture protection is not up to much IMO.

my experience of these on MTBs is that they are good on dry trails, dry streets, dry skateparks, can you see a theme here?
they are shockingly sketchy on wet roads. -

Yep, I've used the 24" twin rails, alright on dry stuff, not so much on wet. I think they're just trying to jump on the bandwagon & hope a few fixed riders will buy them for the colours. I won't be, much rather have a good tyre in a plain colour than the other way round!

Shame they suck on the wet. I would have loved to have a pair of the slime green ones.

So, I took the plunge and bought a pink one from ebay.
Just put it on the rear and taken it for a 10 minute spin round the block. here are my inital thoughts.
- The walls are reasonably thin. Not as bad as fucking stelvios, but certianly no match for the Soma Everwears that I have been riding and loving.
- The main bit is nice and chunky. Looks like they may hold up rather well against wear / skidding.
- The colour is sweet. Shame they have black walls...
- The twin rail system the tyres mention in their name really reduces surface contact with the road. Probably 75% of the contact of a regular treaded road tyre or my everwears. This means the tyre isn't that grippy. Infact it skids really quite easily. Easier to pop a skid on the everwears and make a sweet higher pitched noise too that lets you know you are skidding. Can definitely see why these aren't perfect tyres for the wet. But we shall see. My main worry is that the raised checkerboard pattern on the side of the tyre means that grip when leaning severly is going to be a little sketchy, but again we shall have to see.
So, based on the first (short) ride it seems like a sweet tyre to have on the rear, and the colours are nice. Just going to have to see how it goes. Most interested in how good it is at not puncturing and what its like in the wet and how it handles round corners.
Will keep you updated.

Has anybody got any experience with these:

If my new build goes ahead as planned I'll be needing pink or green tyres. Probably pink. And given that Dia Compes are V expensive and shit my googling has lead me to these. Never heard anything about them. I'm assuming they are cack cos they are Halo and cos they are 24c rather then 23c, but I may as well ask and be told I'm wrong, right?
