Can anyone loan me a 6mmx1 die

  • Hi,

I have a set of NOS Delta's which I'm trying to fit up to my old
Pearson's of London frame. The trouble I'm having is that the bolts
that go through the forks and the frame are just to long.

With the front being 45mm's and the rear 35mm's.

I have never seen bolts that long on a pr Deltas. So I need to thread them
down a bit, std 6mm thread?

Can anyone loan a die or thread them down for me ?

    Cheers Ian

    Barking....

  • Chopping them and getting a smaller bolt would be another option if no one has a die to hand.

I was just standing in the shed thinking that, all I need is a shorter 6 mm square head bolt and it will work.

Now to find a 6mm bolt...

  • My local machine shop does little mods like that for a few quid, there must be one near you, although you could buy your own M6 die and holder for under a tenner, which is probably cheaper than schlepping across town to borrow somebody else's

  • See if you can change the thread title or make a new one to ask around - You usually get a selection provided with a new calliper and someone may have one spare.

How long does the bolt need to be? I have a few left over from my 105 calliper: 10mm / 12mm / 27mm

  • I have a die. East, stratford.

  • I also have a 6mm die (standard pitch I presume) you can use - Central/Camden.

  • 6 x 1 be standard=)

That would be very handy, I'll contact you off forum.
