700c wheels

  • I've done some searching and I can't find anything that tells me what the difference is between 700 23c-25c-28c wheels, does the 23-25-28 thing mean how wide the tyre is.
    Can any one help?
    Thanks.

  • Yes - how wide the tyre is (mm)

  • The 'c' comes after the 700 as in 700c
The other number is width in mm

  • okay got it, thanks

  • There will be a test.

  • Q1 Which wheel has a bigger rim diameter 650C or 650A?

  • A1) there the same

  • Q2 - What is the approximate ratio of: (Maximum tyre width) : (rim width [inside dimension]) ?
EDIT - for bonus marks: (Minimum tyre width) : (rim width [inside dimension])

  • A2)for every 1/2" change in rim width, the tire's section width will correspondingly change by approximately 2/10
