how come tree's not wrapped up? might be doing the same tomorrow. smaller tree tho

Yeah that was the problem, she decided she wanted the one tree that wasn't wrapped. I don't think it would have made a whole lot of difference though, in fact it was probably easier because I was able to hold the saddle and trunk with one hand and guide the handlebars with the other.

I got a call from a friend of mine at 9am this morning asking if I could help her get a Christmas tree. We ended up carting it on top of my bike a mile and a half across town to her flat in the freezing rain. I can only hope that we spread a bit of Christmas cheer by providing some amusement for passers by - it would make up for the fact that my fingers felt like they were about to fall off when I got inside.
