  • Reminds me of this little fella I see near work:

  • Had a day off yesterday, cleaned the new addition:

Not bad for a shitty 18 year old 306.

  • It is a pretty fancy HVAC system though...

    :-D

  • Do you think they could have done it faster by designing in CAD and then printing the parts?

  • Excluding the heater matrix etc

  • I’d have done CAD / printed / laser cut as much as I could I think yeah.

  • They’re extremely good fabricators, but from a previous generation I think. Nothing wrong with that of course, but be interesting to see a project from someone/a team using the latest tech.

  • It really wouldn't.
Project Binky is excellent because it's about two classic British engineers inventing and engineering and hand-making everything.

Who the hell wants to watch a CNC mill or water jet cutting things that have been knocked up in Sketchup?

  • Me

  • Looking at a cool website is good. Watching someone code it isn't.

  • I agree that part would not make good TV.

  • I do CAD all day sometimes, other days I spend all day in the workshop, there’s a time and place for all of it IMO

Whatever gets you to the end goal in the time you have to do it is all that matters

  • Oh absolutely, in that regard yes. It would just make a very boring series of Youtube videos :-D

  • Absolutely. I’m sure they only plasma cut the hole in the bulkhead for artistic effect

  • And a haircut joke.
Holesaw would have done that if if it wasn't for a video :-D

Now, to see if Tavarish has fixed that bloody Lamborghini yet...

  • My 240 needs more welding than is financially viable.
What can I replace it with that has these key attributes:
    Not boring looking
    Easy to fix
    Reliable
    Good on fuel

I don't need the massive load space any more, but does need 4 seats. Only really use it for long journeys and the supermarket run.

  • Also cheap.

  • A 240 sedan?

  • Quite like the BMW compact ti with the rectangular headlights.
The other half wants a C30.

  • Audi a2? Always had a soft spot for those

  • These are actually great. Great fuel consumption, very spacious.

  • Took me 5 hours of absolute sweat and misery to install a new starter motor on the Fury this weekend. Unbelievably difficult access. Couldn't test it either as the battery was completely flat.

Oh and mocked up the accessory stuff on the front and the new fan clutch I bought is too tall and will eat the radiator with the merest persuasion. Gah.

Aftermarket modding cars is a bloody nightmare. Nothing works together properly.

  • Good shout. Off to autotrader

  • spotted an aston martin db4 gt zagato down on pall mall yesterday, nigh on concours condition
front end was actually strangely high and un-aero looking , the car was much more petit than i thought it was
