Does the insider tips include the "800 ml of packed cells" one?
This being the same Chris Carmichael who, along with Rene Wenzel, was doping US National Junior team riders without their knowledge. Classy guy.

I didn't know that Andy; any links?

Have you not read David Walsh's "From Lance to Landis" book? It's in there (and I can lend it to you if you like).
More here;

Oh shit; well it had to come out eventually: I can't read. It's my secret shame. And I don't own a bicycle. And my real name is Delores.
The relief is enormous.yeh, would love to borrow that book for my xmas reading.

What did Carmichael do with Lance ? I assumed Ferrari prepared/trained him

In the early 1990's Chris Carmichael, along with fellow coach Rene Wenzel, injected US junior riders without telling the riders truthfully what was in the injections, and without informing the parents of these young riders. Carmichael and Wenzel were at the time coaches of the US national junior team.
Later several of these riders became seriously ill due to side effects of the so-called "vitamin" injections, and brought a lawsuit against Wenzel. The initial legal complaint, filed by former rider Greg Strock, named Carmichael as part of the lawsuit.
Later Carmichael paid off Strock with a double digit amount to get his name removed from the complaint.
A double digit amount is somewhere between $10 and $99 which does not appear to be a huge amount in terms of hush money.

Carmichael was his coach. Ferrari was a doctor/scientist reportedly used by Lance for legal performance stuff.. like altitude training, pedaling technique and diet and stuff like that.

Strange that Armstrong claims he only visited Ferrari, convicted of supplying illegal substances to cyclists, for 'training advice'. Do you know something we don't hippy?

I'm not sure I get you.
"reportedly used by Lance for legal performance stuff.. like altitude training, pedaling technique and diet"
-
• #13
Okay. How about 'reportedly used by Lance for illegal performance stuff.. like EPO, HGH and blood doping'?
-

I was just explaining what Lance and co. claimed he was used for.
There's still no proof of him doping :P -

There was no proof of anyone caught in Operacion Puerto of doping but that didn't stop both Basso and Ullrich getting two year bans.
Anyone who believes LA won 7 Tours on bread and mineral water must be as slow in the head as philjay.

I know this but find the bit in history where Lance spent time in jail or was banned from competition and I'll type the bit where Ferrari supplied him with his gear.

Technically he should have been sanctioned for a positive test for cortocoids in 1999 but the UCI post dated his Theraputic Use Exemption (TUE) form. No-one wanted a doping positive the year after the Festina Affair.
He's also never explained the presence of EPO in 6 of his urine samples from the same Tour, uncovered by l'Equipe in 2005.

I know this. He's not been banned. I was merely answering the dude above in a non-slanderous way.. wouldn't want LA's lawyers coming at me :)
This is a discussion for bikeradar and rec.bicycles.racing anyway. -
