depends on a few factors, search about for bike fitting, but you'll be around a 56cm

If you have loads of cash, go to Cyclefit and get measured.

A standard frame size will only work if you have standard proportions. If you do, yes, it'll be 56/57cm seat tube (depending on the way they measure it), but different manufacturers may have very different top tube lengths, and you may have some fun playing around with headsets, spacers, bars to get the right fit. There are loads of fitting advice sites around, but I must admit I have only found I understood it when someone actually explained these things to me in person and showed them to me while I was sitting on a fitting jig. It's expensive but really helpful to get measured up. Most quality manufacturers will offer this service.

54-57cm top tube/seat tube with stem/seatpost alterations will be where you're looking at.. based on my 180cm height and road bike history and the fact that 'most' people tend not to be too oddly proportioned.

can verify that, im 5'8" ride a 56cm frame which feels just a tiny bit too big.

I'm 5' 10" and stick with 54cm seat tube c/c.

I'm 6' and on a 54.. way too small to be honest. but it's what i've got, so raise that seat post!
That's got me thinking, what would be my perfect size? 58-60? And is there truth in the idea that your track frame should be smaller?

i'm just shy of 6'3'' and have been measured by mercian for a 59 st. however, i was told that my inner leg was slightly shorter for my height than average... tall torso i suppose!
I may actually get a road style bike if something really catches my eye, but just as a heads up what type of frame size would suit me ?
height wise i'm around 5ft 10 / 11, and from a MTB bike most frames a 17.5" suits fine and the odd frame of 19"..
i know that the geometry is completly different with road bikes which is why i ask..
cheers
Bubba.
