London to Brighton - in 4 Minutes.

  • Strictly Irrelevant.

Footage from the front of a train going to Brighton sometime in the 40's/50's.
Worth a click, I liked it.

  • Trick photography.

  • That's a great film. I must've travelled that line a thousand times and really only recognised a handful of landmarks.
An awful lot of greenery very close to south london too - my old man remembers growing up in amongst small ruralish towns and villages near Croydon where now there is just urban sprawl.

  • saw that on tv a couple of nights ago and thought it was brilliant, what i would like to do is make a similar film with bikes, sort of an updated version but on the road. anyone up for this?

  • That's almost as fast as a forum ride..

  • Totally brilliant film. The BBC must have spooked a fair few gullible souls with the seemingly serious bit about 765mph at the end!

This is how one expects to ride on Friday night, only faster and one will take the motor-road, not the rail-road.

In the dead of the night they show such films (not speeded up) on German TV for hours and hours. This has caused widespread sleep disorders among German trainspotters.

  • Funny how it doesn't look like any of the stations have been upgraded in 50 years either.
