Will is fit a D3?
-
• #4
ah i want that baadd
-

yeah it will fit a D3, but the D3 would automatically crop the sensor to DX format.
it's a great lens, really good in confined spaces, and it doesn't distort to bad unless you're really close to the subject.

why does it crop down to dx?

i'd love to keep it, but it just doesn't come out the bag often enough any more.

because it's a DX lens.
i'm sure you could over-ride it though. it works fine on my 35mm FG. (really distorted) -

right... just had a look, mine is the d-ex...fullframe...guess the lens is anyway built in a very similar way...
-

it will work with all the nikon digital bodies, and alot of the film bodies too, but it was designed for DX format cameras (D80, D200, D2 etc) as nikon didn't have any FX format cameras (D3, D700) on the market when it came out.
you can also get an 8.5 mm version, which is designed for full frame cameras. -
