Fyxomatosis chainring import

bought one of the fyx chainrings a while ago, waited a few weeks, then get card through door saying i need to go to pick it up and pay £13.49 to post office.

anyone else get stung? and if they did was it this much? i'm not sure exactly how to work out import tax but seems a bit much for an 88 aus dollar chainring?!

any info appreciated.

I have two sitting here. No import duty.

I think they stopped charging me after I threatened to "cover in jam and feed to killer ants" one of their drivers for every "handling fee" they imposed.

I have no idea if it's right. $88 = £37 - what's the duty? 17.5% or 15% tax plus some handling fee?

There's no a lot you can do. It's a risk you take with international shipping.. serves you right for trying to sneak Aussie shit over the border :P

Although, a £37 chainring has got to be fucking close to the lower limit of customs.. hmm..

just in case anyone searches for info on these chainrings, i have the raw finish 47t and the finish and workmanship is amazing. was taking my TA specialities ring off to put it on and couldn't believe the difference in quality. really is a thing of beauty, and brawn.
