Just wondered if anyone here had got any parts anodised, how much it had cost them and if they were pleased with the results? Thinking about getting some bits done, cheers.
First thing to check, are all the parts aluminium ?
You can do it at home although the chemicals involved are a little treacherous (and you need a car battery).
Google: 'anodise metal finishers'
There are loads of them around.

Tried it using this method(http://astro.neutral.org/anodise.shtml) on an old seat post with materials from school.
Failed as i had a lack of the correct stuff and ended up improvising. -

In case anyone else is interested I've contacted about 5 different places all asking for a quote to anodise 1 pair of handlebars in black. So far I've had 2 replies, one stating that the minimum order is £175, hmmm, the other saying they do small orders but minimum cost is £50 excluding VAT and delivery...

Just called them and they said £50 minimum. I tried suggesting that if a number of people had parts they wanted done in the same colour they could do a few parts for £50 and this would reduce the cost for those people, they didn't like that idea and said it would complicate things!
So, £50 minimum so far to get some handlebars anodised in black, wtf?!

Dale, if I get hold of some lead (you'd have to tell me how much you need) can I tempt you...?
Dylon clothing dye is the stuff that gives it colour (according to the web).
