  • Assuming Timbuk2 are actually worthwhile cycling bags that, in the immortal words of Charlie Brooker, don't cost twice as much as a golden bucket of diamonds, where can I try out / buy one from in London?

Is it worth pushing up to Chrome, at a risk of filling one of the few remaining unmarked squares on my personal hipster bingo card?

Thoughts and advice, greatly appreciated. And I'll be hassling you at the Camden drinks tomorrow too.

  • What is a SEARCH function...........and what does it do?

Soon to be answered in the next Star Trek movie.

  • Last Caress this could be your last post. The list master has this covered.

  • murtle is a gent

  • Saturday Camden drinks? This is news to me. New stop on the GrandSlam?

  • only now and then,

  • Was in Condor the other day and saw that they have a pretty good selection of Chrome bags, don't know too much about the Timbuk2 bags, do the have the cross strap that Pacs/Chromes/Archies have? The only two that I've seen first hand are just single straps.

All good and well looking at pictures of bags but the way you'll know find the bag you're after is to try a few different brands on.

  • Last Caress this could be your last post.
    Clever you.

  • go to cavendish and get a bailey works.
    they.
    are.
    good.

  • are
    they
    now?

  • Hey! I looked, that's why I asked the specific question about retailers in our fair capital, so I can go and try them out, as El Squire correctly points out.

I'll try Condor and Cavendish, as recommended. Thanks!

  • Except cavendish had two bags on display last week. expecting a bagaboo shipment though, probably in by now. Condor also carry manhattan portage. I dunno which is best because i'm not even fakenger grade

  • BLB have a lot of bags too.

    And what's this about Camden drinks?? On a Saturday . . .

  • I have earned a LISTS-drink. Camden you say?

  • I've got a timbuk2 which I got for £50 (medium). I'd not buy it for the £80 that they cost in the shops though. I'd definitely to for a chrome. The timbuk2 doesn't sit on my back well and the straps aren't great.

In conclusion: buy a timbuk2 if you get an awesome deal but if not, buy a chrome.

  • As much as I like BLB, it doesn't tend to be the best deal around.

    Got it wrong about drinks.

  • My custom Bagaboo is in the post as we speak! :)

  • cycle surgery carry timbuk2

    They have a stabalising strap.
They do not have a second shoulder strap (x-strap)
I don't believe chrome do either.
    They are ok not great.
    Can't comment on chrome.

You have to go up the price/feature scale to pac, archies or zugster (and maybe others) for the x strap

  • It's Donut specific drinks, right?

You buying me alcoholic drinks made from donuts? I love you!

You only buying Donut drinks? Then the fortune teller was right about that black card.

  • We're close like that! ;)

  • Shameless link to Archies bag that is for sale [chromes only have the single strap]

    http://www.londonfgss.com/thread12952.html

  • buy it

  • I have one and I love it and swear up and down by it. Saved my computer when I had a really nasty fall too. Now I do like the way the chrome bag fits, but I don't like (and this is a horrible reason not to buy something) being associated with all the other assholes that have one because "it's the cool thing." I don't know if they are as rampant in england as they are here but it's like the bloody plague.

  • bailey bags. i like mine.
