Wasn't this, was it?
http://www.movingtargetzine.com/article/cyclist-under-a-lorry-hackney
This by email, last night:
Had the horrific experience of seeing yet another cyclist underneath yet another lorry. This one was on Kingsland road (again) at the junction of arbutus street. Lorry (skip truck) had turned in (not sure from which direction) to arbutus street, I could see a red road bike was underneath the lorry but the cyclist was beside it. Not sure if this means they pulled him out, or if he didn’t fully go under the wheels.
More details, anyone?

Ouch.... pass on all our regards Andy.
Lets hope it's just surface damage.

Jody (Luke's brother) just sent me this:
"thanks for the support, he is currently in the first round of theater so can't wait to see him when he's out.... he has had some really good surgeons working on him so we're staying positive"thought those of you who know or have met Luke may want to know.

kingsland rd is fucking dodgy, you need to ride center of the lane to make sure buses see you, i had a couple on my arse last night...
then once waiting to turn off kingsland onto the canal, when i was on the middle lines, a white van came out of no where, beeping his horn with the driver leaning out the window yelling abuse... as he was no where to be seen when i was crossing the road, and i was waiting for a few minutes for traffic to clear before he appeared, i can only guess he didn't see me and got freaked out thinking i came out of nowhere...
i guess the key is visability...
hope dude recovers well...

I'm just about to go up Kingsland road. Extra careful I'll be. Hope they managed to patch him up well after that encounter.

A colleague of mine got knocked off her bike on Kingsland road on Monday. Her leg is all swallon and nasty. It is indeed a dangerous place.
My thoughts are with Luke, and I hope he makes a full and speedy recovery.

UPDATE:
Good news, no ligaments torn, no bones broken (!!), according to Jody:
"the ligaments and bones were fine amazingly... so he was fucking lucky.. having a truck run your leg over and nothing broken is pretty lucky.
Basically the tire ripped the leg open and tore the flesh and muscle out.
***They re bound the muscle and took out the dead or too damaged muscle and flesh. and gave him a big skin graffed (sic)
They say he might get something like 95% recovery"

holy shit that sounds harsh, but yeah, good news; could have been a whole load worse.
Just had a call from a friend who told me that Luke Hudson-Powell got caught between a bus and a lorry yesterday on Kingsland rd. Pretty bad apparently, his leg is in a bad state.
He's not on the forum I think but I'm sure some of you know him. Ginger hair super nice guy on a sparkly blue Reminton.
