The story on www.cyclingnews.com puts a different slant on it, namely that he's trying his hand at racing on the road but he'll return to the track in time to qualify for the 2012 Olympics.

wtf? is that first article a blog/tabloid?
"...sign of things to come that because of British Cycling's dominance of the Track that other riders, no matter what their ability, simply have no answer and are forced to look elsewhere for success in the sport that they love so much"

If he does the road he wont ever be competitive as a track sprinter again.
Shame he is a great character and I think its dissapointing he has given up on sprinting after one bad Olympics.

Pity, I always enjoyed watching the Aussie (and sometimes the GB) boys go head to head against Bos.
I do wish Hoy had've beaten his Kilo though. puts on kilt -

You're getting your big, burly men confused hippy - Hoy tried to beat Arnand Tournant's kilometre record.

Wait.. Bos had the flying 200m record. Forget what I said.
It's defo Bos I'm thinking about on the track though. He's smaller (skinnier) than Tournant and Bos I think.

• #12
Yeah.. I was thinking about Bos's website.. 9 seconds something is a quick Kilo haha

It could be mere coincidence. But Theo's home track is Amsterdam. The exact same track where I went round (I learnt that much! And even in the same direction) for the first time the other week.
And then quite unexpectedly he steps down from Track racing. Just a coincidence?! ;)
