that and the fact we don't need to.
don't have to race them all to qualify for world champs
-

or just clever.
the cost of going to australia for such a minor race meet isn't really worth it, all things considered.
-
• #13
That's obvious. But the Aussies have to travel so I felt like digging. Carry on.

what's that skippy? another win for team GB
"Britain's Lizzie Armitstead, Katie Colclough and Joanna Rowsell won the women's team pursuit on the final day of the World Cup event in Melbourne.
The GB trio won in three minutes 29.890 seconds, ahead of Australia's Josephine Tomic, Sarah Kent and Ashlee Ankudin.
The victory marked a superb recovery for Armitstead to win her second gold in Australia, after a crash on day two required eight stitches in her arm.
The three-day meeting was the second of five Track World Cup events.
Britain's women have now won team pursuit gold in back-to-back World Cup finals, having done the same at the opening World Cup event in Manchester three weeks ago." -

Our sprinters are doing better.[/quote]
Against who!?!
its easy to look good when there is no competition just like team GB did on home soil, the world cups this year are just about trying new riders and doing the minimum to qualify for the worlds.

oh and our team pursuit squad are 1st year under 23's so hardly that experienced themselves....

I don't understand the lack of respect from the rest of the world regarding the GB team..
all this "what are we doing wrong? we can't let *Britain *beat us, sack the coaches, retire the riders.."
maybe we're just better at the moment.
might be a bitter pill for the aussies, dutch and french to swallow. but swallow it they will have to if they want to stand a chance against us. It's not about what they are doing wrong, it's about what we are doing right, and how they should copy and maybe improve on it.

They've already swallowed, it, Rob. They've clambered down onto their knees, opened their mouths and taken what we've given them.
Now they're gagging in the bathroom with a quart of listerine and an all-consuming sense of shame.

GB is better at the moment and it must be a bitter pill to swallow for the other teams - what have they been doing since Athens?? The AIS must be kicking themselves. It's Au tax dollars that are not working so they'll be answering some tough questions.
"The result triggered massive change in both riding and coaching ranks, headed by the retirement of gold medallists Bradley McGee and uncertainty over the future of dual Athens champion Ryan Bayley."
http://www.news.com.au/dailytelegraph/story/0,22049,24671504-5001023,00.htmlIf they're not getting results, they're out. Isn't that the new GB system? More dosh for the winners, less/none for the losers? Possibly oversimplified but I'm not into all the crap behind the scenes, I just want green and gold on podiums :)

yes, except we only have winners then some other people waiting to be winners.
looking forward to my team GB 2012 burger!
Team GB have only sent three riders - Jo Rowsell, Elizabeth Armistead and Katie Colclough - to this round of the Track World Cup.
They've still managed to win two gold medals on the opening day though;

It also looks like the Australians are bringing some good youngsters on, Jack Bobridge is only 19 and at the Oceania Championships last week he rode a 4:18 4k pursuit.
