• Sorry peeps. No punch lines. Planet-X sell the B258AAs for £25 and (as this is cheaper than what most "track boutiques" are selling the B259AAs for) I thought I'd ask here to check if there's any major difference between the two. They both rise, sweep back slightly and have a clamp diameter of 25.4mm. Any ideas?

    Much obliged.

the Nitto B258 features a heat treated alloy bar with a greater reach than the B245 bar. A suitable rearward sweep of the extensions ensures wrist comfort.

    Weight - 232g

    Stem Clamp diameter - 25.4mm

Also think that the B258's are much wider than the others.

  • Well, when you put it like that... If you're implying the 258 slopes down and the 259 slopes up then I wasn't sure if it was the camera angle. But now that they're up side by side...

  • I probably should have added "from an aesthetic point of view". I'm no weight weenie so I'm not fussed about grammage (probably not a word...I know). And I was gonna chop them down to size anyway so width isn't an issue either really. All things I could have put in the OP. But time is money, yo. And attention to detail ain't my strong point.

  • Are you getting a riser now? I spent probably a month trying to find a silver B259AA - could not find any except the more expensive anodised ones.

Finally got mine from Decathlon - £7 only. I think it looks/works alright and would recommend it.

  • I may do! Just looking around. Seeing what prices are about. I'll give Decathlon a try if I ever roll past one. And sod those ano ones. It's gotta be silver!

  • I had both, the 259 being the better of the 2 imo, purely for comfort. The 259 has a higher rise/sweep whereas the 258 has a rise but flat

  • Anyone got a 259 for sale? PM please! Cash waiting

What he said. The extra sweep is nice.

Nitto risers are nice and everything but there isn't any problem with £10 eBay/Halfords risers either.
