Anything is a deadly weapon if you use it kill someone with. You can't overly define things, otherwise someone will kill someone and their defence will be "but this isn't a deadly weapon".

A gun is a deadly weapon as it is a weapon designed to kill people or animals. A flick knife is also a deadly weapon. A kitchen knife is not a weapon but a tool or utensil until such time as it is used as a weapon, when it may well become deadly.

not picking a fight here but it is pretty poorly written. it sounds like any old blog rant rather than an article. take a look at the last paragraph as a fine example. is that unfair?
