Garageband for PC?

  • i really love messing about with all the loops and the easy design of the program. but alas i am not in possession of my own mac to play with. i want somthing thats as easy to use, cubase is overkill and too complicated, fruityloops sucks, and reason is just mad. i have trouble making a sound in reason. im not serious into making music i just want some fun.

does anyone know of a decent PC alternative?

ive tried that sony acid pro jive, but i really didnt get along with it. tis wank to use, and doesnt have all the brilliant loops that garageband has.

  • Ableton Live is exactly what you're after mate

  • Also download/buy sample packs if it's simply loops you're after, there are millions out there.

  • does it come with loads of loops, or do i have to download them all?

i like the fact garageband has them all there, i end up using stuff i wouldnt normally expect and i probably wouldnt have chosen to download.

  • It comes with loads of loops, I personally download any sample pack that's free, even if it's 'Bavarian Pond sounds' for the same reason you stated, all sounds can be tweaked a bit for unending fun too.

  • You could also look into OSX86, basically OSX for the pc, it's a bugger to get running if you can at all. I just about managed it and am using LOGIC 8 at the moment on my PC
