I've got a few bikes I can donate. Also wheels and and such. I've offered them to Greasy Slag for the ghost bike thing but he hasn't managed to collect. It's a case of whoever's first! I'm moving soon so need to sort this out, about a month to go.

hmm,
I'm about to do a winter clean of my garage of frames, forks, rings, chains, etc, etc. Since moving to HK i've decided to get ride of loads of my old stuff. I'm back in the UK around Christmas so can donate at that time. I've loads of stuff, some pretty much brand new. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see when stuff could be donated.

talk to recycle centers DK. They collect bikes\bike parts and give them to a charity that aims to renovate them and hand them back to those that need them more

-1 to this offer. GS has just left with said bikes! Might find a few tools in the clean up before I move out though...

Still accepting donations?
I missed this the 1st time round but it sounds like a great idea and I may be able to dig out some stuff when I'm back in UK...if it's still ongoing?

That's a shame, I just got rid of a load of bits and bobs to be collected by the council.
I do however have a BMX that needs a tad bit of work, it's in very good condition. From what I remember it just needs a new chain, and some brakes. I'll post a pic soon.
Velocio you want?
EDIT: Oh, this is from 2008... lol. Anyway, still want?

Anyone know the best way to donate an old mountain bike to charity?
Bike is rideable and in reasonable condition and am sure it would probably benefit a kids or third world charity, but my local hospice shop is too small to take it and I dont want to just chuck it in the dump -

Mike, this is the first thing come to mind;
Although, not right this second as I have nowhere to store them.
The gist though is this:
Notice the past tense? Just after they announced on the estate that they'd got together 20 bikes (mostly second hand tat) for use, they were broken into and all of the bikes stolen.
So now they're knocking door to door in an attempt to start all over again. What they need are tools and bikes.
Right now they need to re-secure their storage area, but once that has been done donations would be really appreciated.
So if there's anything you have that was going to be thrown out, if you have spare parts, old chains, brakes and cables, spare tools (now that you've got those rainbow coloured allen keys), old hybrid bikes you're embarrassed to be seen on... donate them all to my estate! Go on, there are people here who really want to get something going, so if you've got stuff to get rid off, this is how... I'll let you know the when as soon as I'm told they've sorted their storage.
