I'm about to receive a nice chunk of change thanks to tax returns and am thinking of ordering a wheel set from prowheelbuilder.com. I believe it will still be cheaper for me compared to ordering the parts and having someone build them for me.

Thinking of DT Swiss RR 1.1 or 1.2 rims (I weight in at about 13 st, if that makes any difference) and DT Swiss spokes, but other than that, no idea. Haven't even bought the BB for my Principia yet, so I guess I am quite free to choose whatever hubs I like. Still, something that wouldn't force me to have an exotic chainline would be much appreciated. I believe that rules out at least Paul's.

Your thoughts and demoralizing advice are much appreciated.

RR 1.1 are a lot lighter and would give a more comfortable ride on the road.

I'd go for Goldtecs laced to Open pros 36 spoke rear (3cross), 28 spoke front (2cross). You can even choose between silver or black spokes ;)

if you are nice to betd they will make the goldtech's without logos or annodizing them

also if you order the wheels but can find a human as opposed to a machine to build them they might knock some money off the price of wheels, spokes and hubs

Betd hubs are awesome

so if they don't anodize them does it mean they will be silver? I like Goldtecs but I'm not sure about black hubs, not a racist thing, silver just looks elegant.

I guess the pewter version is gun metallic, like the Deda Elementi Zero stem.

if the hubs are not annodised, they are plain silver

you will need to ask Dan at BETD, it may take a little while but the results are worth it
